LEADING UP TO Q4
OCTOBER . NOVEMBER . DECEMBER
TREND: CULINARY
A TASTE OF PUERTO RICO

BORICUA
FOOD TRUCK THROWDOWN
TIMELINE: SEPTEMBER / OCTOBER
While we don’t have any celebrity or Michelin Star-led culinary concepts at the resort, the other side of the foodie travel trend revolves around connecting with a destination through its cuisine, with food fests being particularly “hot.” It is all about discovering culture and experiencing a place through real, authentic food made from the heart that captures the soul of a locale.
Knowing we are coming up with innovative ways to drive attention and bookings to the resort during the slower season, we think this could be a great time to capitalize on this trend and give local culinary gems a platform to shine through a food truck festival hosted at our very own Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico. We propose putting the property’s huge parking lot to good use, inviting food trucks from all over the island to compete for the coveted title of the “Ultimate Boricua Food Truck,” which will be determined by our guests’ and local votes!
CULINARY & CULTURE
PRESS TRIP
TIMELINE: ALIGNED WITH FOOD FEST
While we’ve coordinated our second press trip of the year in the past to align with the holiday craze to share the way we spread festive cheer at the property, this year we suggest hosting it a bit earlier in the year to have the media experience our food truck festival. We think this festival will be a beautiful way to display Puerto Rican pride at the resort and showcase the island’s culture through all of the incredible flavors.
In addition to experiencing the Boricua lifestyle through the food at the fest, a great addition to the experience could be to also invite cultural musical and dance entertainment to perform throughout the day of the event — bringing in a Parranda group, a local reggaeton performer and maybe artistic Bomba group from Rio Grande’s neighboring town of Loiza. We’d also love to plan on showing off any other cultural activities or excursions in the area within our itinerary to immerse our guests in the region’s culture!

SEASONAL: FESTIVE
PARRANDA, COQUITO
Y ARBOLITOS
We know that the resort always goes above and beyond for the holiday season and the team is always looking for next biggest and best thing. In 2024, we saw a big trend of Christmas trees popping up on beaches, a lot in California and some even popping up in Mexico, and they definitely made a splash on socials!
Let’s take it a step further and rather than just popping up one small tree, create a Christmas tree forest along the coastline of the resort’s peninsula that guests can wander through with their feet in the sand! These trees can be faux as we know there are probably limitations due to the resort being on a natural reserve, but the idea is to bring the holiday spirit to our shores. To make this even more special, because it is the season of giving after all, sprinkle in a couple of “Giving Trees” with wishlist ornaments for families in need that allow our guests to give back. Find a local charity partner who might be able to coordinate this or make this super simple by creating “wishlist” QR codes that guests can scan off an ornament to be directed to Amazon shopping lists that they can fulfill to make some Christmas wishes come true this year.
TIMELINE: NOVEMBER / DECEMBER
MICE FOR THE HOLIDAYS
BUILD YOUR OWN PARRANDA
We loved our parranda celebration this past December on our press trip so much that we thought we should make this a forefront offering as we head into the holidays for meetings, corporate, incentive groups and even larger multi-gen families!
By creating a festive parranda “menu,” the property could offer groups a selection of services and holiday season offerings that they can build into the guest experience over the course of their stay. We see this including a group of musicians to perform Puerto Rican holiday tunes, the parranda kits as an amenity for guests’ rooms, a private lechonera festive feast, a coquito making class, pitorro tasting and more!

black FRIDAY / cyber MONDAY / travel TUESDAY
In 2024, we knocked it out of the park publicizing the Hyatt offer and producing some great national and key regional coverage ahead of the holiday! To ensure we are able to replicate these results while keeping in mind the volume of offers and the competitive environment for these kinds of stories, it is more important than ever to ensure we have our promotional sale details by the first week of November. We have found that the first offers to be available often receive the most exposure!
Additionally, beyond the discount offered by Hyatt, we strongly recommend adding some signature Puerto Rican “extras” for people who might book our BF/CM offer — whether it be free “welcome” PRadise Bliss Lagers as an amenity when they check-in or a guaranteed Pan Sobao wake-up regardless of room category.
TIMELINE: LATE OCTOBER / FIRST WEEK OF NOVEMBER
